  • Kenosis Kids Week, December 2008

Our Kids Week in December 2008 took place under the theme: I am a fisher of men. A colorful event, based on Biblical stories, where fish plaid an important part. We had expected around 180 children to come. This turned out to be a 'conservative estimate', as we had a record of between 230-250 kids every day. With the help of our Volunteers from Maqongqo and some German volunteers we managed well to keep everyone occupied. Sr Happiness and her team in the kitchen also managed to make sure that no one went hungry!
The kids reflected in groups about 'what it meant to be a fisher of men' and where this becomes relevant in their own lives. To remind them of what they had learned, the children folded fish out of paper, made collages of fish and painted, glued and drew fish. As it was only a couple of weeks before Christmas, the children also had the opportunity of making Christmas Cards and decorations in the afternoons.

It was a successful and happy week for all!
